
Laura Scarrone (she/her) is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, award-winning author, and internationally recognised gender specialist.
She is registered with the UK Ministry of Justice and her reports are accepted for Gender Recognition Certificate applications. Her practice is trusted by NHS and private providers alike. She brings over 15 years of clinical experience across Spain, South America, the UK, and Andorra, and has supported more than a 1000 transgender and non-binary people.
A passionate advocate for LGBTQI+ rights, Laura is a respected voice in the field of gender diversity. She serves on the Committee of the British Psychological Society’s Section for Sexual, Gender and Relationship Diversity and is a member of the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists (BAGIS), as well as the World and European Professional Associations for Transgender Health (WPATH & EPATH).
Co-founder of Affirm, an online training platform dedicated to supporting clinicians’ education to deliver quality and equitable gender-affirming care. Since its launch in 2023, Affirm has trained over 450 clinicians across 12 countries and has collaborated with organisations including the United Nations, University College Cork, University College London, and TGEU, among many others.
Laura has over 20 publications, predominantly in the field of gender diversity, including: book chapters, articles, and conference papers. Her insights have been shared at the United Nations, and published in Women’s Health Magazine, and Glamour. In collaboration with community members, she co-authored Gender Affirming Therapy: A Guide to What Transgender and Non-binary People Can Teach Us, which has been awarded the 2025 Distinguished Book Award by the American Psychological Association’s Division 44 for its groundbreaking contribution to the field of LGBT psychology.
